The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, this role leads the finance function ensuring the effective implementation of the strategic plan, by independently managing finance activities, ensuring business transactions are recorded, reconciled and reported in accordance with accounting standards and policies. You will also:
- Deliver effective and transparent financial and management reporting and analysis
- Oversee the delivery of the AOP budget, external audit and audited statements
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, banking, payroll and superannuation functions
- Support the management team in implementing board strategy
- Preparation and submissions of BAS and ATO requirements
You will lead the development and maintenance of the quality and compliance strategy in accordance with the relevant legislation, providing advice and analysis to the MD.
Skills Required
In addition to a successful career in financial management with a CPA qualification or equivalent, you will have experience in risk, quality and compliance, ideally developed within a membership-based organisation or peak body, alternatively experience in a primary industry would be beneficial but not critical. You can exhibit:
- Leadership and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships across the whole organisation
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Business Central and Office 365
- Experience in creating a tailored approach to compliance, risk and quality
- Ability to prioritise, plan and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- A high standard of written and verbal communication skills
- Stakeholder leadership in a government or semi-government business
