Reporting to the General Manager, Strategy, Advocacy & Engagement, this role will lead Wesley Mission’s organisational strategy and policy agenda, stewarding the full strategy lifecycle while driving priority reform initiatives.
This is a highly visible and influential role, working in close partnership with the executive and CEO to embed a clear, organisation-wide approach to strategy, business planning and policy development.
You will bring structure, clarity and momentum to key organisational priorities, establishing consistent planning frameworks, shaping a coherent and credible policy agenda. Ensuring advocacy is grounded in evidence, lived experience and strategic intent.
You will partner closely with service leaders, subject matter experts and external stakeholders, aligning strategy, policy and advocacy to maximise organisational impact.
Skills Required
You’re currently working in a comparable role within government, charity, politics, like-minded corporate or a similarly sophisticated organisation, and comfortable navigating scale, ambiguity and multiple stakeholder groups.
A strategic and outcomes-focused leader, you will bring experience operating in social change environments driving organisation-wide initiatives.

You bring to the role:
- Experience leading strategy, policy or reform agendas
- Understanding of public policy and government decision-making
- Experience translating organisational strategy into clear, actionable plans
- Ability to synthesise complexity into concise and directive outputs
- Experience building structure and process in evolving environments
- A delivery mindset, with the ability to move from concept to implementation
An alignment with, and ability to work within, the values and ethos of a Christian organisation is important, while experience engaging with faith-based communities or church structures will be highly regarded.
