Ronald McDonald House Australia is a national charity supporting families with children who are ill or injured. Working across a federated network of 11 independently governed chapters, Ronald McDonald House Australia supports delivery of essential accommodation, support services and programs to families across Australia. Operating as part of the global Ronald McDonald House brand, Ronald McDonald House Australia plays a central role in enabling system-wide impact supporting the chapters through strategic leadership, national fundraising, and shared services.
Following a recent rebrand and the introduction of a global Excellence Framework, Ronald McDonald House Australia is entering a new phase of alignment and capability building, strengthening consistency, connectivity and performance across the national system. The introduction of the Excellence Framework represents a significant step in strengthening quality, compliance and performance across the system, ensuring best practice is embedded and continuously improved.

The Role
Reporting to the Chief Mission Impact Officer, and managing a small team, you will lead the development, implementation and ongoing evolution of Ronald McDonald House Australia’s Excellence Framework and Program delivery support. You will drive a system-wide approach to quality, compliance, safeguarding and continuous improvement, ensuring chapters operate in alignment with agreed global and national standards, while supporting, program growth and development, best practice and local delivery.
This is a highly visible ‘hands-on’ role requiring extensive engagement across chapters, including regular site visits, assessment of performance, fostering capability uplift and strengthening alignment. You will lead the review and performance audit process across the network, contribute to organisational priorities, ensuring the Excellence Framework remains relevant, effective and responsive.
Skills Required
You’re currently working in a comparable role, using your experience in quality, compliance, audit or performance frameworks. You’re comfortable operating within complex, multi-site or federated environments. A tactical thinker with strong interpersonal skills, you bring the ability to engage, influence and build trust across diverse stakeholders, while maintaining rigour and consistency in standards.
You will bring to the role:
- Experience overseeing quality, compliance or assessment frameworks
- Strong understanding of performance audit, governance and regulatory environments
- Experience managing teams and delivering outcomes through others
- Ability to translate standards into practical, actionable improvements
- A systems-thinking approach with a focus on continuous improvement
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
