About The Role
Based in Darwin and supporting teams across Darwin and Wadeye, you’ll lead a group of family support practitioners providing high-quality services to children, young people and families. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you’ll focus on team leadership, stakeholder engagement, service quality, and operational oversight to ensure programs meet client and contractual obligations. You will also:
- Lead, supervise and develop a multidisciplinary team to achieve program outcomes
- Ensure quality service delivery and adherence to contractual and safeguarding requirements
- Monitor performance, data reporting and compliance processes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities and service partners
- Promote advocacy for children and families within the broader service system
- Travel to Wadeye (approx. one-hour flight from Darwin) on a regular basis
Skills Required
You are an experienced social or community services professional with leadership skills and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by families in complex circumstances and remote locations. You’re motivated by the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families in the Northern Territory. You will also have:
- Qualifications in social work, counselling, psychology, human services or a related discipline
- Experience managing and developing high-performing teams
- Background working with vulnerable children, families and Aboriginal communities
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and child protection frameworks
- Strong communication, networking and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, remote service environment
